Item Quality Policy
At Vintagebulk, we strive to offer high-quality vintage clothing. Because we specialize in both wholesale and retail vintage fashion, we understand that the condition of the clothing is an important consideration for our customers. Our grading system is designed to provide transparency and give you an accurate picture of the condition of the items you purchase. Below, you'll find a detailed overview of our grading system, so you can make an informed decision when placing an order.
Our grading system
Our inventory is categorized as Grade A and Grade B. These classifications provide a direct indication of the fabric's quality, the degree of wear, and any imperfections. The price difference reflects the condition of the items: while Grade A is ready for immediate sale, Grade B may require more repair or show signs of wear. See below what you can expect in each category.
How is the quality of items assessed?
Each item is carefully inspected by our experienced team. We evaluate the following aspects when determining the grade:
✔ Fabric condition (tears, holes, wear, discoloration)
✔ Structure and shape (wear, stretching, deformation)
✔ Closures (buttons and zippers)
✔ Cleanliness (any stains, odors, markings)
Important: You are buying used clothing. The items are not new, and some wear and tear is expected. Please allow for a 15-20 % margin of error in item quality because the boxes are assembled manually.
Our items are delivered in compact packaging, so they may be wrinkled upon arrival. This is normal and not a sign of damage or defect. The wrinkles are easily removed by steaming the items yourself, or by washing and then steaming them. For added convenience, we offer an optional steam service. If you choose this option, we will ensure your items are professionally steamed and shipped wrinkle-free.
A-Grade – excellent condition
What you can expect:
A-Grade items are in excellent condition and show minimal to no wear. They have barely been worn and may even appear unworn. There are no or barely visible stains, tears, or discoloration. All functional details, such as zippers, buttons, and closures, work perfectly. While slight discoloration or minimal wear may occur due to age, this does not detract from the overall appearance of the garment.
B-Grade – good condition
What you can expect:
B-Grade items show light to moderate signs of wear, such as discoloration, stains, or minimal fabric wear/holes. Minor imperfections may be present, such as a loose or missing button, a hole, minor fraying, or a small stain. These defects are generally repairable.
General comments
Age and authenticity: Our vintage pieces originate from different decades and may vary in wear depending on their age and use history. All items are guaranteed authentic.
Repairs and alterations: If you intend to resell Grade B or C items, we recommend factoring in the cost of repairs or restoration. Many vintage enthusiasts enjoy giving clothing a second life.
Size variations: Vintage sizes may differ from modern sizes. Unless otherwise noted, our bundles contain a mix of men's and women's clothing, and sometimes a small amount of children's clothing.
Washing: We recommend washing all received items for the best chance of resale. Before considering returns based on grading, we ask that you wash the items first to remove any imperfections.
